100% Broken rice is a grade of rice consisting of grains broken in the milling process. On milling the milling process, it is produced an average of 50% brown rice then approximately 16% broken rice, 20% husk, 14% bran and meal. Further grains break before and after milling in transport. Mechanical separators are used to separate the broken grains from the whole grains. Broken rice may or may not have lower fiber and nutrient content, but generally has a similar energy content to intact rice. The differences for a final user would be in the cooking results basically, not in the nutrient aspect. We supply this product out of Vietnam.
Big companies that manufacture extruded snacks in the USA use broken rice as an ingredient. These companies usually require 100% broken rice, which are supplied in 50 kg bags .Very small broken rice is called ‘brewers’ rice’, as use by brewers is the traditional industrial use. Due to the different size and shape of the grains, broken rice has a different, softer texture from “unbroken” rice. Broken rice is also used to make starch which is used as laundry starch and in foods, cosmetics and textile manufacture for example.
Broken rice can also be consumed as part of local cuisine in several countries in Africa, Thailand, and elsewhere in South East Asia, where the broken varieties are often less expensive so are preferred by lower income consumers. In Vietnam, for example, Com tam (what means “broken rice” in Vietnamese) is a popular rice dish with pork. Distributors in Africa resell the product directly in 50 kg bags and the end consumers take it home as it is.

RICE PROCESSING FACTORY- DONG THAP BRANCH
To perfom our mission and target, Tan Long rice milling factory was biult in 2010, located at Lap Vo District, Dong Thap Province, Vietnam with output capacity at 1,000 mts of white rice per day. Tan Long also operates an extensive warehouse with over 33,000 our processing facilities, thereby integrating the complete supply chain or selling to third parties.
• The factory has been equipped modern system such as: polishing machine, mixing machine, milling machine with high capacity 1.000 tons per day, morden scale system to control input materials and output finished products, roving coneyor belt system to save manpower and increase productivity, 6 trough conveyor belts system
• In addition, the factory also has bran drying system to ensure the quanlity (moisture) of bran and goods. So, we can strore products for a long time, especially decrease 4°C for a drying time.
• Materials are bought directly from boats, after that they are transported along the wharf and conveyor belt system to electric scale to weigh. Materials are spooned up by bucket and transferred to container deck.
• Materials from container deck are transported to impurity seeming to screen impurities. After screening, materials are transferred to milling stage to remove external bran layer of rice, to make white rice. However, according to the skill of worker that controls the machine, rice has more broken rice or not.
• After milling, materials begin to be polished to make shining and bright rice.
• Drying stage is also performed safely and technically to make rice that has appropriate moisture to preserve
•The next stage is removing broken rice stage to make rice that has broken rice on request such as rice with 5% broken rice, rice with 10% broken rice...
• Brand drying machine has the capacity about 1.000 tons/day. Brand has high quality and on demand. Bran factory can preserve goods for a long time and ensure the quality.
